Definition
Integrity of data values is the degree of absence of loss or corruption of data values.
Relation
- Integrity is a characteristic of data value.
- Integrity is one of the three aspects of data security next to confidentiality and accessibility (CIA).
- Integrity can also be regarded as a characteristic of software and hardware (infrastructure), which is relevant in the context of data security.
Example(s)
A hacker or a technical problem can decrease the integrity of data by deleting, changing or damaging data.
