Timeliness

Definition

Timeliness of data availability is the degree to which the period between the time of creation of the real value and the time that the dataset is available is appropriate.

Note

Note the difference with punctuality which refers to a planned point in time of delivery.

Timeliness is a characteristic of the availability of a dataset

Example

The annual report over 2022 became available at 15 January 2023. The timeliness of the report was more than appropriate.
